Palomar Airport Hotels April 2005 Carlsbad Airport Hotels, Planning Commmission Public Hearing April 6 and Carlsbad Airport Hotels, Agenda recommending Negative Declaration . We think the hotel's a great idea. However, the PAA recommended that the city submit this for review of the Airport Authority to ensure proper oversight for noise and safety of occupants (building standards). This hotel will be located underneath the main training and approach pathway for helicopters which can be as low as 50ft above ground at this point. We recommened a mitigated negative declaration to ensure interagency coordination. The city disagreed and approved the negative dec. anyway.
